Description

This check monitors if the antivirus software is up to date.

ServersCheck uses WMI to obtain that information from a remote computer. Service Pack 2 must be installed on the Windows XP host you want to monitor.

It can only verify the up to date status for those Antivirus software programs that report their status to the Microsoft Security Center.


Definition

Besides general settings for each check, which are similar for all checks, there are following specific settings that also need to be established. In the Check Specific Settings, there are following fields you need to supply with parameters:

  • Target Host - The WINDOWS name of the target server. For the local machine, enter either the name of your computer or 127.0.0.1 and leave username/password blank.
  • Username - The WINDOWS username needed to connect to the target server. Leave blank if not required.
  • Password - The WINDOWS password needed to connect to the target server. Leave blank if not required.


Returned Results

It will return OK if the antivirus software is up to date; DOWN if no up to date antivirus could be found.

Graphs

When the graphing option is activated then ServersCheck will produce for this check two graphs: Service Level and Availability.
