Alert Escalation & Acknowlegement
From ServersCheck Wiki
Click the definition of a rule and the Warning Alerts or Down Alerts button. You will then see a screen similar to following:
First you define who needs to receive the alert and how. Once you this is defined, you enter the treshold value: the number of minutes that someone has to acknowledge the alert. If not acknowledged within that timeframe, ServersCheck escalates the alert to the team specified in the "then escalate to following team" list.
If an error occurs, then the person who receives the alert has to login to the web interface and click on the Alerts tab.
Click the Acknowledge button. If you acknowledge the alert outside the time frame, then you can still acknowledge it. Fill in the actions you have taken in the following screen. When completed, click the Acknowledge Alert button.
The reason will be visible to any user having access to the given rule once that the alert has been acknowledged.
Escalated alerts are automatically removed if the status of a monitor returns to OK prior to the escalated alert being sent. This logic only applies when the alerting option has been set to "On each status change" and will not work for the other alerting options.
To acknowledge by SMS, reply to the SMS you received with the full text of the alert message. It should contain the word "alertid" , the "#" symbol and the alertid.
