How does it work?

The BTSGPRS check type is for the Falcom SAMBA 3G modem. It creates a GRPS context, requests an IP address and then connects to a defined server to perform a TCP connection on port 80. This doesn't work with other modems.

How to configure?

In the main dashboard overview, click on the ADD NEW MONITOR button

In the following screen, select the BTSGPRS option. In the newer release the BTSGPRS option is not listed as ServersCheck now mainly supports Huawei modems instead of Falcom modems. If the BTSGPRS option is not listed, then you can activate by point your browser running on the appliance to http://localhost:1272/addwizard.html?type=BTSGPRS

In order to avoid false positives, you can define the software to retry. This means that if a problem is detected, it will automatically retry the number of times defined here before considering that the check failed. You can also set the interval between 2 tests. For example if you want the GPRS functionality to be verified every 3 minutes then you set the interval as shown below.

Select the correct COM port. Make sure to enter the number of the SIM card inserted into the modem. It should be entered in the international phone number format. You can modify the timeout period and then click on TEST SETTINGS.

A new window will open with an OK message if it was able to connect to the remote server.
