Description

ServersCheck allows you to monitor the statistics of a Cisco Works Server using SNMP. Note that you have to install SNMP service on the computer with ServersCheck.

You have to choose server performance parameters or counters you want to check with this check. The performance parameters or counters currently available (with corresponding OID) for the Cisco Works Monitor include:

Besides the general settings for each check, which are similar for all checks, there are following secific settings that also need to be established. In the Check Specific Settings, there are following fields you need to supply with parameters:

  • Optional OID template - These are predefined OIDs for Cisco Works Server.
  • Server - The IP address or DNS name of the network device.
  • Community String - The Community String
  • SNMP Port - The SNMP port (default is 161)
  • OID - The OID of the wanted SNMP check to be performed. Make sure that the OID ends with .0
  • Set status DOWN when - In which case of average value will be raised DOWN alert.

Returned Results

This check returns two results:

  1. Can a SNMP value be retrieved?
  2. What is the value?

If you have Fail On Value 1 activated then it will check against the returned value. If you have Fail On Value 2 activated then it will discarded as SNMP only returns one value.

Graphs

When the graphing option is activated then ServersCheck will produce for this check three graphs: Service Level, Availability and the returned SNMP value.
