2. The first item you are asked to define is a Windows admin account for ServersCheck. By default services running on a Windows account only have local access and are unable to connect to remote hosts. However if you want to monitor remote Windows systems, then you will need to provide a Windows account giving sufficient privileges to:

  • Perform remote calls
  • Have access rights to the remote machine

In some cases the service properties can not be updated and you might get an error message. You then need to perform the service settings update manually as outlined here.

If you do not want to change the Service settings, then leave all fields blank and click on Save Settings

3. ServersCheck can send email alerts using its built-in mail server or by using an external smtp (relay) server. In this wizard ServersCheck will try and send out an email using its built-in mail server. Make sure that the outgoing port 25 is enabled on the computer running ServersCheck. Typically this is by default blocked by antivirus software.

4. ServersCheck will then test your email settings. Please be patient as tests may take several minutes.

5. ServersCheck will then display the results and ask if you have received your test email.
