Define Devices

You need to be logged in as an Administrator in order to define a group. In the main screen select the Device View option and click on the Add New Device button.
In the Device List window, you will get the list of all defined devices. An existing device can be edited by clicking on the edit icon (next to the trash bin icon).
Specify the following information in the device definition screen:
Device name
The name of the server, router, switch, etc. that is being monitored. This does not have to be the exact machine name but may be a logical description.
IP Address
The IP address of the device.
VNC Port
If you have VNC installed on the monitored device and if you would like to be able to directly connect to the device, then enter here the port on which VNC is configured. The default port is 5800. Note that for this option to work, you need to have the web interface (Java) of VNC running so that you can connect to the remote machine via a browser.
Description
A description of the device.
Device Type
The type of device.
Operating Systems
The operating system of the device.
Click Save Settings when done.
