Define SMTP

Click the Configuration option in the top orange menu. In there go to the Configure Alert Settings block and select the Email Settings option from the drop down list

You need to define the options you would like to use. First check the box next to the email server option you want to use: Internal mail server, Outgoing SMTP Relay Server or GMAIL. See the Gmail page on how to configure email alerts through Gmail.

You can use any of the following variables in the Subject and Email body field:

%l is the label of the rule

%g is the group name of the rule

%d is the device name of the rule

%s is the status of the rule

%e is the last known error

%t is the time at which the alert was generated

%a is the action you defined for the alert
