Main Screen Explained

Above is the default main screen of the ServersCheck Monitoring Software. In this section we will explain the main elements on the main screen.

1) Main Menu

"DASHBOARD VIEWS" are the main views that show the general health of the items being monitored by the software. There are 4 views: Top 10 View, Device View, Group View and All Monitors View.


ALERTS provides reports and details of alerts that have been triggered REPORTING are the different reporting modules available to the end users NETWORK MAPS will give you access to the different maps that you may have defined CONFIGURATION will give you access to the configuration options SUPPORT shows different support options available depending on the version you have

2) Monitoring Status

This 3 colored indication in the top right corner gives an immediate view on the health of the systems being monitored. Click on any of the numbers to see which checks are matching the status.


3) Monitoring Statistics

The statistics shown in the main screen are:

  • How long the monitoring has been running for
  • How many checks have been performed since the last start
  • The current service level


5) Monitoring Options

The buttons enable you to:

  • Monitor New Item define a new check. For example performing a PING check to monitor a router. Click here for more information on how to setup a new rule
  • Add New Device to add a new device that you want to monitor. With this you provide the details of the device and then you will need to link rules to the device. Click here for more information on how to setup a new device
  • Scan Network will perform a network scan to detect new devices.
  • Copy Device Rules enables you to copy paste rules that you have defined for one device and link them to another one.

6) Devices Lists

This list shows you the name of each device and its status. The devices are sorted by name. Statistics indicate how many items have an OK, WARNING or DOWN status. By clicking on the numbers you will be shown the specific rules for quicker analysis.

If you defined a WINDOWSHEALTH or LINUXHEALTH rule then you will see graphs similar as in the above screenshot. The first graph (gauge) indicates the current CPU usage. The second is the available RAM memory in %. After that the disks are shown with there available disk space in %.

By clicking on the device name (shown in bold) you can view the properties of the device; update its name or view graphs linked to the device.
