Go to the All Monitors View by selecting it from the top menu Dashboard Views

At the end of the list of defined monitors you have a button called Monitor New Item

In the next screen you can select the type of check you would like to add. In this example we click on the radio button next to the PING check type.

Give the monitor a new and link it to a device or to a group.


Note: in the MSP edition a group name is a customer ID as shown in this screen.

In above screen select the minimum frequency at which you would like the check to be executed. Depending on the load of your system and the type of version of the software you have, the actual may be higher as checks are executed sequentially and in parallel.

For this PING check we are going to monitor the Google.com web server. See the manual for specific settings per check type.

In the last screen of the configuration wizard you can define how you want to be alerted when the monitor fails.
