Description

This check will perform an ICMP ping to the destination server to check if server is available for connection.

Beside general settings for each check, which are similar for all checks, there are following Check Specific Settings which also need to be setup. In the Check Specific Settings, there are following fields you need to supply with parameters:

  • Server - The IP address or DNS name of the server that needs to be Pinged.
  • Set check status to - You set condition when ServersCheck will raise alert (DOWN status), or will set OK status for some results of checks.

Returned Results

This check returns three results:

  1. Was a connection made to the server
  2. What was the round trip time to the server expressed in ms.

If you have Fail On Value 1 activated then it will check against the round trip time.

Graphs When the graphing option is activated then ServersCheck will produce for this check 4 graphs: Service Level, Availability and Average Round Trip Time.
