Description

If you have an SMTP enabled mail server, then ServersCheck will try to send a test email through that SMTP server. TCP PORT 25 check will let you know if the mail server is available on the SMTP port, this check will inform you if you can actually send emails through the server.

Beside general settings for each check, which are similar for all checks, there are following Check Specific Settings which also need to be setup. In the Check Specific Settings, there are following fields you need to supply with parameters:

  • SMTP Server - The IP address or DNS name of the SMTP server.
  • Secure SMTP: Username - The username required to authenticate against SMTP server.
  • Secure SMTP: Password - The password required to authenticate against SMTP server.
  • From Email Address - The email address of the sender of the email. If left blank it will be default, and set to test\@serverscheck.com
  • To Email Address - The email address of the recipient of the test email (must have as a destination the POP3 server defined below).

Returned Results

This check returns one result:

  1. Could a connection and login be made to the server

Graphs

When the graphing option is activated then ServersCheck will produce for this check two graphs: Service Level, Availability.
