Description

This feature allows you to plot the status of the defined checks on any image that is in a PNG defined. As such you can either view the status and stats of your checks from the text list (default) or from the network map. By default ServersCheck uses the networkmap.conf configuration file to create the map. This conf file is located in the add-ons subdirectory of ServersCheck. You can edit the file by using the networkmapping.exe in the add-ons subdirectory. The image needs to reside in the output\networkmaps subdirectory.

Tutorial

First you have to go to Start menu in the Windows, and in the Programs menu go to ServersCheck. Under ServersCheck click at ServersCheck Visual Map Configurator. After that you will get following window, in which you will go to the File menu, and click at Load Picture command. Open Picture dialog will be shown, in which you select any picture in PNG file format that will be opened. The image needs to reside in the output\networkmaps subdirectory of ServersCheck directory.

When the picture file is opened, click with pointer at the Pen icon on the toolbar. Then click at any place at the picture on which you want to create new spots. After that new dialog will popup. In that dialog you select which check (from checks that you created in ServersCheck) will be represented on that spot at the picture. After selecting. just press OK button, and new spot on the picture will be defined.

When you have finished with creating new spots on the picture, go to the File menu and click at Save Configuration command. Save the new configuration file at add-ons subdirectory, on that way that file name ends with networkmap.conf (for example second_networkmap.conf). It is because only on that way ServersCheck will show when started all Virtual Network Maps.

When you access to the ServersCheck, you will see at the left side of the window Network Map View menu. There are names of the network maps (for example at upper picture maps named default and second) you created, and you can access to them at any time just with one click at map name.

Multiple Maps

As of release 5.1.0 it is possible to have multiple network maps being created by ServersCheck. The networkmapping.exe application allows to open any *.conf file in the add-ons subdirectory. To create a new networkmap, next to the main one, follow these steps:

  1. Copy your new image in the output\networkmaps subdirectory.
  2. Start the networkmapping.exe
  3. Select Load Picture
  4. Create the spots on the loaded picture
  5. Save the configuration as second_networkmap.conf

With multiple networkmaps, just make sure that the new configuration's file name ends with networkmap.conf.
